About Ravencrest Consulting

Built by a Tradesman. For Tradespeople.

23 years on job sites taught me how this industry works. Now I build the digital systems that keep contractors busy — so your business doesn't depend on who you know, but on how well you show up.

Why This Exists

I Watched a Great Business Slowly Disappear.

My father ran a ceiling texture and repair business in Edmonton for over 40 years. He was exceptional at his craft — the kind of tradesman who never had to advertise because the phone always rang. Contractors knew him. Builders called him. Word of mouth kept the schedule full for decades.

Then things started to shift. His contacts in the industry began retiring. Some passed away. The network he'd spent a career building was shrinking — and there was nothing replacing it. The jobs slowed down. Not because his work got worse, but because the way people find and hire contractors had fundamentally changed.

The phone stopped ringing because the world moved online — and his business didn't move with it.

I watched a skilled tradesman with 40+ years of experience struggle to stay busy. Not because he couldn't do the work, but because nobody could find him anymore. That stuck with me.

What Drives This

Your Business Should Outlast Your Network.

Word of mouth is great — until the people spreading the word retire, move, or move on. Every contractor I work with is one generation of contacts away from the same problem my father faced.

I build digital systems that don't depend on who you know. A website that ranks. A Google Business Profile that converts. Content that brings in new customers while you're on the job site. These assets compound over time — they don't retire, they don't forget your name, and they work 24/7.

My goal is to be the long-term digital partner for the businesses I work with. Not a vendor who builds a site and disappears. Not an agency that locks you into contracts and sends you reports you don't understand. A partner who's invested in your growth because your success is the only proof that matters.

I want to help contractors build businesses that are worth something — something that could be sold as an exit or passed on to the next generation. That doesn't happen when your entire pipeline depends on a handshake and a referral.

My Background

From the Tools To the Screen.

I spent 13 years as a Red Seal certified automotive mechanic and 10 years in construction before that. I've pulled transmissions, mudded drywall, quoted jobs in parking lots, and worked on vehicles in minus-forty Edmonton winters.

I didn't leave the trades because I couldn't do the work. I left because I saw the same problem happening everywhere — great tradespeople with full skill sets and empty calendars because their online presence was nonexistent or working against them.

I started learning web design and SEO while still turning wrenches full-time. Built my first client sites nights and weekends. Saw what happened when a contractor actually showed up on Google with a site that converted. The results were immediate and obvious — more calls, more booked jobs, less dependence on referrals and ads.

Ravencrest Consulting exists because I know both sides. I know what it's like to run a trade business. And I know what it takes to make one visible online.

How I Work

What You Can Expect.

Honesty Over Sales

If you don't need a new website, I'll tell you. If your budget is better spent on SEO first, I'll tell you that too. I'd rather earn your trust with the truth than sell you something you don't need.

Ownership, Not Dependence

Everything we build is yours. Your site, your content, your domain, your data. I never want a client to stay because they can't leave — I want them to stay because the results speak for themselves.

Trades-First Thinking

Every strategy, every keyword, every page is built through the lens of someone who's been in the trades. I understand your margins, your seasonality, your customers, and what actually drives booked jobs — not just clicks.

Long-Term Partnership

I'm not interested in one-off projects that go nowhere. I want to work with contractors who are serious about building something that lasts — and be the digital partner that helps them get there.

Let's Build Something That Lasts.

Whether you need a website, SEO, a full digital roadmap, or just an honest conversation about where your business stands online — I'm here for it. No pitch. No pressure. Just a straightforward conversation between two people who understand the trades.
